The high frequency sound of my own mind woke me two hours ago.

July 2013 is finished, incredibly.  So many things stuffed into a month, and June was only last week.  August will also finish in one week – 2013’s August of sleep-deprived days, 2060 kilometer weeks, lousy cash-flow, last suppers, Pearson Airport, and cello cello cello.

August of returning home to the mighty engine of work, rampant gardens and a house gone dormant.

This month of August has been relentlessly demanding – in the year of turning corners, making changes and consciously moving on into deeper territories. This month more than any other in a long long time has required of me a shocking amount of courage, and active self-respect since, in order to turn corners, make real changes and move on, I need also to Let Go.

I’m not done.  The six days remaining to me will be full indeed – of focused, clean work, creative application, and development.  These are just words.  The doing will be truly satisfying – I can’t wait.

Penultimate August, full of opinions, critiques and challenges to my sense of worthiness, in this last week, I say to you, “Bring it.”

September will come and I shall know myself even better.  Which is good, since in September I will turn 50.

What a year!
